In Chattanooga, this project involved a full exterior and partial interior transformation of a residential property, completed with a focus on long-term durability, clean aesthetics, and consistent detailing across all visible surfaces.

The work began with a thorough inspection of existing exterior conditions, including siding, trim, doors, and architectural details. All surfaces were washed to remove dirt, mildew, and loose material, then selectively scraped and sanded to eliminate failing paint and create a stable base. Any areas showing signs of rot, soft wood, or prior water damage were repaired or replaced before coating, ensuring the new finish would not simply cover existing issues but extend the life of the structure.

Once the substrate was sound, all bare wood and patched areas were primed with appropriate bonding and sealing primers. Special attention was given to joints, seams, and vulnerable transitions (such as around windows, doors, and trim intersections), which were carefully caulked to improve weather resistance and produce crisp, uniform lines. Hardware, fixtures, and glass were masked off to protect them and maintain sharp edges along all painted boundaries.

The exterior received a new color scheme selected to complement the home’s style and surrounding neighborhood. Siding, trim, and accents were each coated with premium exterior paints in multiple coats, applied to manufacturer specifications for coverage and film build. Care was taken to maintain even sheen levels and avoid visible lap marks, particularly on large wall surfaces exposed to direct sunlight. Doors and high-touch areas were finished with more durable products to handle frequent use and exposure.

Architectural features such as fascia, soffits, columns, and decorative trim were treated as focal points. These elements were sanded, detailed, and finished so that transitions between colors and surfaces were straight, consistent, and visually clean. Where metal elements were present (such as railings or metal trim), they were prepared to remove rust and oxidation, primed with appropriate metal primers, and finished with coatings designed for exterior metal longevity.

On the interior, selected rooms received repair and repainting to refresh high-traffic and high-visibility spaces. Walls and ceilings were inspected for nail pops, hairline cracks, and previous patchwork. These areas were properly repaired, sanded smooth, and primed before painting. Existing colors were either matched or updated, with new finishes applied in a controlled, orderly sequence: ceilings first, then walls, followed by trim, doors, and casings.

Interior trim work—including baseboards, window casings, and door frames—was lightly sanded, cleaned, and repainted to restore sharp profile lines and a clean contrast against wall colors. Careful cutting-in along edges ensured that walls and trim maintained clear separation with no bleed or waviness. Where needed, gaps at trim-to-wall connections were caulked to improve both appearance and air sealing.

Throughout the project, protection of the property and surroundings was a priority. Landscaping adjacent to the house was covered or shielded during exterior work, and ground areas were kept clear of chips, dust, and debris. Indoors, floors and furnishings were covered, with pathways protected to prevent tracking of dust or paint. Daily cleanup was performed so the property remained orderly and accessible while the work was underway.

The project concluded with a detailed walkthrough and touch-up phase. Any minor imperfections, missed spots, or uneven areas were corrected, and all masking and coverings were removed. Hardware and fixtures were reinstalled or cleaned as needed. The final result in Chattanooga is a home with renewed curb appeal, uniform color and finish, carefully restored details, and an upgraded level of protection against weather and everyday wear.
