This project in Ider involved a complete exterior cleaning of a one-story residence and its primary concrete surfaces, with attention to both appearance and preparation for future maintenance.
The work began with the concrete areas: the driveway, front walkway, rear pad, and front steps. These surfaces were treated with a surface wash using appropriate detergents designed to break down and remove mold, mildew, ground-in dirt, and other surface contaminants. After allowing the detergents to work, each area was thoroughly rinsed to flush away residue and restore a clean, uniform appearance across all concrete surfaces.
The house and attached garage received a full exterior wash, including columns, trim, soffits, fascia, gutters, downspouts, and all vertical wall surfaces. This included a variety of materials—siding, brick, vinyl, Hardie board, and any stucco sections—each cleaned with methods suited to its specific finish. A soft wash process was used, applying a controlled blend of detergents to safely loosen and remove most surface-level dirt, dust, mold, mildew, pollen, cobwebs, and light organic staining without risking damage to the exterior.
Where needed, siding and other surfaces were gently scrubbed to address light staining and embedded dirt that did not come off with detergents alone. The columns and trim were given special attention, including the removal of a bird’s nest and a detailed cleaning of the surrounding wood. These areas were cleaned with the added goal of preparing the wood for painting, ensuring the surface was free from contaminants that could interfere with adhesion.
Once all cleaning and any necessary light agitation were completed, every treated surface—concrete, siding, trim, and accessory components—was thoroughly rinsed. This final rinse ensured no detergent or debris was left behind and provided a consistent, refreshed look to the entire exterior of the home.
The completed work is covered by a 1-year mold and mildew warranty on the washed exterior surfaces, providing added assurance regarding the durability of the cleaning results.
