This project involved a complete soft washing of multiple masonry buildings on a commercial property in Chattanooga, including a fitness and bistro facility, a lifeguard building, and a pool locker building with adjacent fencing. All work was carried out using low-pressure SoftWash techniques and a carefully blended mild detergent solution, designed specifically for brick, stone, and block surfaces.

The process began with a detailed inspection of each structure to identify areas with heavier buildup of mold, mildew, pollen, dirt, dust, and general surface residue. Particular attention was given to shaded and moisture-prone sections of the buildings where organic growth was more pronounced.

For the Fitness and Bistro Building, the exterior masonry surfaces were treated with the soft wash solution, allowing sufficient dwell time for the detergents to break down biological growth and environmental staining. Once the contaminants were loosened, the entire building was thoroughly rinsed using low-pressure equipment. This approach ensured that all residues were removed while preserving the integrity of the brick and stone, and preventing any damage to mortar joints, sealants, or surrounding trim.

The Lifeguard Building received the same level of care. All sides of the structure were treated with the mild detergent blend, targeting mold and mildew growth that had developed due to its proximity to the pool environment. Using a soft wash rather than high-pressure cleaning allowed for effective removal of contaminants without etching or scarring the masonry. A complete low-pressure rinse followed, leaving the building clean and refreshed, with improved overall appearance and curb appeal.

At the Pool Locker Building, the scope also included the exterior face of the nearby wood fence at the front. The masonry surfaces of the locker building were soft washed and rinsed in the same manner as the other structures, focusing on removing organic growth, airborne pollutants, and pool-related residue. The front-facing portion of the wood fence was gently cleaned to improve uniformity and presentation of the area, while carefully adhering to the instruction not to clean the building or surfaces located inside the wood fence this year. All cleaning was limited strictly to the exterior of the locker building and the outward-facing fence sections, respecting the defined boundaries of the project.

Throughout the job, site protection and cleanliness were priorities. Landscaping and adjacent surfaces were considered during application and rinsing, and run-off was managed responsibly. The completed work left each masonry structure with a noticeably brighter, cleaner appearance, free from visible mold, mildew, and surface grime, while maintaining the integrity and character of the existing brick, stone, and block finishes.
