This project involved a full exterior wash of a one-story residence in Powells Crossroads, with particular attention to the front porch (wood and concrete) and a wood deck.

The work began with a complete cleaning of all upper trim elements, including the soffits, fascia, exterior gutters, and downspouts. These components were carefully soft washed using a controlled blend of detergents formulated to break down mold, mildew, organic growth, and general atmospheric buildup. Special care was taken to flush out gutter exteriors and the visible portions of downspouts while preventing streaking on the surrounding surfaces.

All vertical exterior surfaces were then treated, including a combination of siding materials present on the home: brick, vinyl, and any fiber cement (Hardie Board) or stucco sections. The soft wash application was allowed appropriate dwell time to loosen dirt, pollen, cobwebs, light staining, and embedded residue without the risk of damage associated with high-pressure methods. Where needed, siding and trim were gently brushed to help release stubborn buildup and minor staining around high-contact areas such as entryways and corners.

The front porch area received detailed attention. Both wood and concrete sections were soft washed to remove surface grime, mildew, and tracked-in dirt. The process restored a clean, uniform appearance while maintaining the integrity of the materials. All railings, posts, and ceiling areas on the porch were also treated and rinsed, eliminating cobwebs and visible discoloration.

The wood deck was similarly cleaned using a detergent-based soft wash, designed to lift mold, mildew, and surface contaminants from the wood without excessive pressure. This approach helped brighten the wood and prepare it for any future sealing or staining the homeowner might choose, while preserving the deck’s structure and finish. Rinsing was carried out thoroughly to ensure that detergents and loosened debris were fully removed from boards, railings, and surrounding areas.

Upon completion, all treated surfaces were rinsed carefully to remove remaining residues and to prevent streaking or spotting. The result was a noticeably refreshed exterior—clean soffits and fascia, brightened gutters and siding, and renewed porch and deck surfaces.
