This project involved a comprehensive soft-wash cleaning of both the pool deck and the pool deck furniture at an apartment complex in Chattanooga, TN. The work was completed using a low-pressure, detergent-based cleaning process designed to safely remove organic growth and surface contaminants without causing damage to the materials.
The pool deck was first treated with a carefully blended solution of detergents formulated to break down and lift mold, mildew, algae, and other built-up residues that commonly accumulate in high-moisture, high-traffic outdoor areas. The soft wash method ensured that the detergents did the majority of the cleaning work, rather than high pressure, which can sometimes etch or erode concrete and other deck surfaces. After allowing the cleaning agents sufficient dwell time to penetrate and loosen the contaminants, the entire deck area was thoroughly rinsed. This complete rinse removed the detergent solution along with the dislodged organic growth and surface grime, leaving the deck cleaner, brighter, and safer underfoot.
In addition to the deck surface, all poolside furniture—such as loungers, chairs, and tables—was soft washed using an adjusted detergent blend suitable for the specific materials. The same low-pressure approach was used to protect finishes, fabrics, and frames while effectively removing dirt, mold, mildew, algae, and any other residue that had collected over time. Once cleaned, each piece of furniture was fully rinsed to ensure no cleaning agents remained, helping to prevent streaking, residue buildup, or any potential irritation to residents using the furniture.
By the end of the project, the apartment complex’s pool area had been noticeably refreshed. The deck appeared cleaner and more inviting, and the furniture looked well-maintained and ready for regular use by residents. The completed work not only improved the overall appearance of the pool amenity but also contributed to a more sanitary, enjoyable outdoor environment for the property’s community.
