This bi‑weekly service was performed for Foodliner’s dry goods tanker fleet at their Chattanooga location, focusing on consistent, high‑standard exterior cleaning for operational and appearance needs.
On each scheduled visit, the assigned tankers (units 511094, 513040, 514098, 518005, 520007, and 524092) were brought through a standardized “Deluxe Wash” process. The work began with a full exterior inspection of each trailer to identify heavy buildup, problem areas, and any surfaces where brightener would be beneficial without impacting decals or sensitive components.
A pressure wash system was then used to apply a blended detergent solution across the tankers’ exterior surfaces. Special attention was given to high-traffic and high-contact areas such as ladder rungs, walkways, undercarriages, hose tubes, rear doors, and landing gear. The detergents were selected and mixed to break down surface road film, dust, and general grime while being appropriate for the tankers’ finishes.
Following the detergent application and dwell time, brightener was selectively applied to areas showing discoloration, staining, or dulled metal—most commonly lower side panels, front faces, and rear surfaces exposed to the most road spray. This step was completed carefully to avoid overuse and to protect sensitive areas, ensuring the metal surfaces were restored to a clean, bright appearance without damaging finishes.
Each unit then received a thorough high‑pressure rinse, starting from the top and working down to prevent streaking and ensure complete removal of detergent, brightener, and loosened residues. All visible residues were rinsed away, including around rivets, seams, and fittings. Final passes were made around valves, connection points, and frame components to ensure no chemical or grime remained trapped.
After rinsing, a visual walk‑around inspection was conducted to confirm consistent cleaning quality across the entire fleet set for that service date. Any missed spots or streaking identified during inspection were readdressed immediately with spot cleaning and additional rinsing where needed.
