This residential concrete cleaning project in Chattanooga involved a full exterior wash of the home’s primary concrete surfaces, with particular focus on the front entry area and driveway.

The work began at the front porch and steps, where all loose debris and surface dirt were cleared and the entire area was power rinsed. Extra attention was given to the high-traffic areas on the steps and porch landing to remove tracked-in soil and organic buildup. During the project, a previously existing gouged area on the front porch was identified. This was noted and left as is, since the damage was physical deterioration of the concrete rather than a surface issue that could be corrected through cleaning.

After the initial rinse, a specialized concrete-safe detergent was applied across the porch, steps, and full length of the driveway. This detergent was selected to break down and lift mold, mildew, algae, and embedded dirt while being safe for nearby landscaping. The solution was allowed proper dwell time so it could penetrate and loosen contaminants from the porous concrete surface.

Once the detergents had done their work, the concrete was cleaned using a surface washer to provide an even, uniform result and avoid streaking. This method ensured consistent pressure and coverage across the entire driveway and entry area, including transitions, edges, and tighter spaces around steps and borders.

The project concluded with a thorough final rinse of all treated surfaces to remove detergents and lifted residues. The result is a noticeably brighter, cleaner front porch, steps, and driveway, with mold, mildew, and general buildup removed while preserving the integrity of the concrete.
