This bi-weekly project in Chattanooga involved providing a deluxe exterior wash service for multiple tanker truck trailers (no cabs), focused on maintaining both appearance and protective cleanliness for active fleet equipment.
Each service visit followed a consistent, methodical process. The exterior surfaces of each tanker were first inspected to identify areas with heavy buildup—such as road film, grease, fuel residue, and environmental contaminants—so the cleaning approach could be adjusted as needed for each unit (083, 091, 086, 082, 090, and 078).
A controlled pressure-washing system was used in combination with a tailored blend of detergents, degreasers, and brighteners. Detergents were applied to break down general road grime and organic residues, while targeted degreasers were used around areas prone to oil and fuel contamination. Brightening agents were applied specifically to aluminum components to restore a uniform, clean, and well-maintained appearance, helping to reduce dulling and oxidation that develop over time.
Where buildup was more stubborn—typically around seams, fittings, ladder rungs, and lower-panel areas—surfaces were scrubbed manually to ensure those problem spots were fully cleaned rather than just rinsed over. After cleaning chemistry and scrubbing were complete, each tanker received a thorough, top-to-bottom rinse. The end result was a clean, bright exterior finish across the entire group of tankers, with particular attention paid to uniformity between units.
By performing this work on a bi-weekly schedule, the project maintained each tanker in a consistently clean, professional state, reduced long-term buildup, and helped protect the metal surfaces from the effects of accumulated road contaminants.
