QualityPRO Power Washing Commercial Concrete Wash

Exterior cleaning of restaurant back areas—including walkways, loading dock, ramp, and grease trap—to remove grease, mildew, and residue with detergent wash and thorough rinsing.

This commercial concrete wash project in Chattanooga, TN focused on restoring and securing the primary employee service areas at the back of a busy restaurant. The scope of work centered on eliminating slippery grease buildup, mildew, and general surface contamination from the main walk paths and adjoining concrete surfaces, then managing and directing all wash water into the designated parking garage drain.

The job began at the back door area, where years of foot traffic, food service operations, and kitchen runoff had left a thick film of grease, grime, and organic growth. The surface was pre-treated with a targeted blend of commercial detergents designed to break down grease while also addressing mold, mildew, dust, pollen, and embedded dirt. After allowing proper dwell time, the area was surface-washed using appropriate pressure and technique to lift contaminants without damaging the concrete.

From there, the cleaning continued through the loading dock area and adjacent sidewalk/walkway. These spaces had significant buildup from daily deliveries, cart traffic, and exposure to the elements. The same detergent blend was used to loosen residues, including oil spots, tracked-in kitchen grease, and airborne pollutants settled into the pores of the concrete. The surfaces were then methodically washed to ensure consistent results, paying special attention to the primary employee walk path where slip hazards were most severe.

The ramp area and grease trap zone received additional focus due to the higher concentration of grease runoff and organic contaminants. These locations were heavily treated with degreasing agents, followed by thorough mechanical agitation where necessary to break up stubborn deposits. Once the grease and mildew were lifted, the ramp and grease trap surroundings were surface-washed and fully rinsed to restore a clean, uniform appearance and significantly improve traction underfoot.

Throughout the process, all cleaning runoff was carefully managed. The wash water, along with loosened grease and residue, was directed and rinsed toward the parking garage area and guided into the appropriate garage drain. This ensured that contaminants were removed from the walking surfaces and safely carried away via the existing drainage system, rather than spreading or re-depositing elsewhere on the property.

By the end of the project, the back door entry, loading dock, employee walkway, ramp, and grease trap areas had been fully cleaned and rinsed. The concrete surfaces were free of visible grease films, mildew patches, and surface residue, leaving a brighter, safer, and more professional-looking service area for staff to use in daily operations.
