This ongoing bi-weekly project involved providing a consistent, standardized exterior wash for a fleet of dump trucks operating in and around Cleveland. Each service visit focused on restoring and maintaining a clean, professional appearance while removing accumulated road and jobsite debris that can build up quickly in heavy-use conditions.
On every scheduled service, each dump truck was first inspected to assess the level and type of soiling, including dried mud, caked-on dirt, road film, and dust collected from quarry, construction, and hauling environments. The trucks—identified in the fleet by numbers 25, 26, 58, 76, 113, 116, 136, 148, 149, 150, and 163—were then washed individually using a controlled pressure-washing process.
A blend of detergents formulated for heavy equipment was applied to all exterior surfaces, including the cab, dump bed sides, rear gate, fenders, wheels, and visible undercarriage areas. The detergent was allowed proper dwell time to break down soil and surface residue without compromising painted finishes, decals, or company branding. Special attention was given to high-impact zones such as lower panels, wheel wells, steps, fuel tanks, and front grills, where road grime and mud tend to accumulate most heavily.
After detergent application, each truck underwent a thorough pressure wash using calibrated water pressure to remove loosened contaminants. The process removed layers of dirt, soil, dust, and mud from both flat and hard-to-reach surfaces while avoiding damage to sensitive components. Care was taken around lights, mirrors, seals, and any exposed wiring.
The wash process concluded with a clean, comprehensive rinse to ensure that no detergent film or residue remained on the surfaces. This step helped leave a uniform, streak-free finish across the entire exterior of each vehicle. As a result, the fleet maintained a consistently clean, well-kept appearance between service intervals, supporting both operational readiness and a professional image on the road and at job sites.
