This ongoing bi-weekly project in Cleveland involved providing a consistent, standard exterior wash for a fleet of dump trucks. Each service visit focused on restoring the appearance of the vehicles and maintaining a clean, professional look despite their heavy-duty use in dirt- and debris-prone environments.
On every service interval, each truck was carefully pressure washed using a controlled blend of detergents formulated for heavy equipment. The wash process targeted accumulated road film, dirt, soil, dust, mud, and other surface residues that routinely build up on working dump trucks. Attention was given to all primary exterior surfaces, including the cab, doors, hood, fenders, wheels, fuel tanks, and visible frame areas, as well as the exterior surfaces of the dump body.
The process began with a thorough pre-rinse to loosen surface material and cool any panels warmed by sun exposure. Detergent solution was then applied evenly across the truck’s exterior, allowing sufficient dwell time to break down grime without affecting finishes or decals. Following this, a controlled-pressure rinse removed the loosened contaminants and detergent, ensuring no residue remained on painted or metal surfaces.
This procedure was performed on the following trucks in the fleet: units 58, 76, 119, 121, 136, 137, 146, 148, 150, and 163. Each vehicle was washed individually, with particular care taken around sensitive areas such as mirrors, lights, and badging.
By maintaining this bi-weekly washing schedule, the trucks were kept in consistently clean condition, helping to preserve exterior surfaces, support a professional image on job sites and public roads, and reduce the long-term impact of built-up grime on finishes and components.
