This project involved a full soft-wash cleaning of a two-story residence in Ringgold, focusing on all key exterior surfaces and trim. The goal was to restore the home’s appearance, remove organic growth, and provide a cleaner, brighter exterior while protecting the materials and surrounding landscaping.

The work began with a detailed walkthrough of the property to identify the specific surfaces and any areas needing extra attention. The exterior included a combination of siding and trim components such as soffits, fascia, exterior gutters, downspouts, and a mix of vertical wall surfaces (including vinyl, brick, and fiber cement/Hardie board). Each material was evaluated for its condition, level of staining, and presence of mold, mildew, or other buildup.

A soft-wash method was used across the home’s exterior. Rather than relying on high pressure, a controlled, low-pressure application of a detergent blend was applied to the soffits, fascia, gutters, downspouts, and all vertical wall surfaces. This solution was formulated to break down and lift most common contaminants found on exteriors: dirt, dust, mold, mildew, pollen, cobwebs, and general surface residue.

Once applied, the detergent was given time to dwell and work into the buildup without harming the surfaces. Areas with visible staining or more embedded dirt—such as shaded sides of the house, around gutter lines, and near ground level—were gently agitated by hand as needed. This light scrubbing step helped release stubborn residue and light organic staining while preserving the finish of the siding and trim.

After the cleaning agents had fully loosened the contaminants, all treated surfaces were thoroughly rinsed with fresh water. This rinse step ensured that the detergents, lifted debris, and loosened organic material were fully removed from the soffits, fascia, gutter exteriors, downspouts, and wall surfaces. Special care was taken around windows, doors, and landscaping to prevent spotting and to protect plants and surrounding areas.

By the end of the project, the home’s exterior presented a noticeably cleaner and refreshed appearance. The siding and trim were free of visible mold and mildew growth, and accumulated dust, pollen, and cobwebs had been washed away.
