This project involved a complete exterior soft wash of a two-story residence in Ringgold, including the main house, attached features, and a screened porch that needed to be prepared for painting.

The work began with a full inspection of the home’s exterior surfaces, noting areas with heavier mold, mildew, and staining, as well as any delicate materials or previously painted sections that required extra care. Once the property was assessed, all nearby surfaces and sensitive areas (landscaping, outdoor furnishings, and fixtures) were protected or moved as needed.

The cleaning process focused on the soffits, fascia, exterior gutters, downspouts, and all vertical wall surfaces around the home. This included a mix of materials—siding, brick, vinyl, Hardie board, and any stucco areas. A soft wash method was used throughout, applying a carefully blended detergent solution designed to break down and lift typical organic buildup. This blend effectively addressed dirt, dust, mold, mildew, pollen, cobwebs, and other light surface contaminants without the risk of damage that can come from high-pressure washing.

After the cleaning solution was applied, it was allowed appropriate dwell time to work into the buildup. Areas with stubborn grime, light staining, or embedded dirt were then gently agitated by hand as needed. This spot treatment helped to even out the overall appearance and remove discoloration that detergents alone might not release. Once all sections had been treated, the exterior was rinsed thoroughly from top to bottom to flush away residue, detergents, and loosened contaminants.

Inside the screened porch, the same soft wash principles were applied, with extra attention given to making the surfaces paint-ready. All washable surfaces within the porch area were cleaned to remove dust, mildew, and surface contaminants that could interfere with paint adhesion. Special care was taken around screens, trim, and any painted or stainable surfaces, ensuring they were rinsed clean and left free of chalky or loose material.

The final result was a refreshed exterior with noticeably brighter soffits and fascia, cleaner gutters and downspouts, and uniform, renewed wall surfaces across all material types. The home’s exterior was left in a clean, well-prepared condition suitable for follow-up painting where planned. The work was completed in accordance with the company’s standards and is covered under their 1-year mold and mildew warranty for washed surfaces (and 2-year coverage where roof cleaning applies).
